How to connect your internal dashboard

Last updated October 22, 2026

Who can use this feature?
Admins only.

Overview

Open your own internal tools, such as your admin panel, billing system, or an internal app built with tools like Retool or Bubble, inside Atlas. Agents see the customer they're helping in an "Internal dashboard" tab in the info pane, so they don't have to search for the same customer in another tool.

Key Features

  • Your tools, inside Atlas: The "Internal dashboard" tab shows your tool in the info pane.
  • Opens on the right customer: The URL can include variables, so the page opens on the customer being viewed.
  • One URL for the team: Set it once and every agent sees it.
  • Your existing login: Atlas uses your tool's existing authentication flow, so no custom changes are needed in your tool.

How to connect your internal dashboard

Requirements:
You are an Admin and you have the URL of your tool's customer page, for example https://www.myapp.com/admin/user?user_id=123. Your tool must have a page that opens a single customer from a link.
  1. Go to  "App Configuration > Integrations > Internal Dashboard" .
  2. In "Dashboard URL", enter the URL of your customer view. Replace the customer's details with a variable in curly braces, for example https://www.myapp.com/admin/user?user_id={user_id} (see the table below).
  3. Click "Save". The message "Updated company details." confirms it.
  4. Open a ticket. The "Internal dashboard" tab in the info pane now shows your tool for that customer.

Variables you can use in the URL

Write each variable in single curly braces, for example {user_email}.

VariableWhat it holds
user_idThe customer's user ID
user_emailThe customer's email
user_nameThe customer's name
agent_emailThe email of the agent viewing the ticket

FAQs & Troubleshooting

Which customer does the dashboard show?

The customer you're viewing. Atlas fills the variables in your URL with that customer's details.

Who sets the URL?

Only Admins can set it. It applies to the whole team.
