Zeus AI Quick Setup

Last updated September 12, 2026

💡

Before you begin: Before configuring Zeus AI, administrators should have a clear, comprehensive understanding of the business processes and operational guidelines they intend to automate. Ensuring these foundational elements are ready will significantly streamline your setup and maximize AI performance: Knowledge Base Readiness: Help Center articles and documentation must be clear, well-structured, up to date, and cover common edge cases or exceptions. Ticket & Case Management: Understand how your team currently handles and resolves customer support tickets, including lifecycle stages, categorization, and resolution paths. Escalation Rules & Handoffs: Clearly define the conditions, criteria, and workflows for when Zeus AI should halt execution and hand off tickets or conversations to human agents. Active Integrations: Identify all tools, APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems that Zeus AI will need to interact with or trigger via protocols. Voice, Tone & Persona: Establish explicit guidelines for how Zeus AI should communicate (e.g., direct, empathetic, technical, or conversational) and how it should adapt across different customer profiles or segments. Guardrails & Boundaries: Outline strict safety policies, restricted topics, and PII handling requirements to protect user privacy and avoid unauthorized responses.

Zeus AI Quick Setup Steps

To start using Zeus AI follow these steps:

Step 1: Configure the Data Sources

Navigate to " Data Sources " and add all the information sources you want Zeus AI to use for generating responses.

💡

Important: •Available source types are Help Center (published articles) and Tickets (previously answered customer tickets, with personally identifiable and account-specific information removed). •Once you have all the desired data sources configured and "Active", proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Set up Knowledge snippets

Navigate to " Knowledge " to create and manage your knowledge snippets.

💡

Important: •Zeus AI retrieves information primarily by semantic concepts rather than document titles alone; build search rules around explicit keywords. •Keep snippets atomic and brief to address single, specific user queries.

Step 3: Define Tools and Platforms

Navigate to " Tools " to add MCP servers and create custom native tools.

Navigate to " Platform " to connect your ticketing platforms (Zeus chat, Intercom, Zendesk, Front...)

💡

Important: •Connect native workflows or external MCP servers to expand your AI's execution capabilities.

 Step 4: Configure Protocols

Navigate to " Protocols " to establish operational workflows and decision logic.

💡

Important: •Define clear step-by-step conditional statements following the IF [Condition] THEN [Action] ELSE [Escalation] logic. •Use tools via {{ directly within protocol instructions to trigger specific actions or systems. •Include explicit handoff criteria to route complex conversations to human agents.

Step 5: Set up Profiles and Tone

Navigate to " Profiles ", " Profile mapping " to define the profiles and audience mapping rules.

Then go to " Tone " to configure your background company knowledge and specific communication styles for your Zeus AI.

💡

Important: •Specify the agent's exact role and communication guidelines (e.g., concise bullet points, direct answers, grounded tone). •Configure Profile Mapping rules to adapt responses based on audience segmentation.

Step 6: Configure Guardrails

Navigate to " Guardrails " to set system boundaries and safety restrictions

💡

Important: •Enforce strict context grounding to restrict responses exclusively to data present in your Knowledge Bases. •Add automatic filters to scrub PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and restrict unsafe topics.

Step 7: Run Evals and Test

Navigate to " Test mode " to run test scenarios and validate accuracy before going live.

💡

Important: Test edge cases, incomplete inputs, and out-of-scope prompts to audit system accuracy
