Decide what happens after a ticket is closed
In "New message after their last ticket is closed", select one of these actions:
| Option | What Atlas does when the customer texts again |
| Create a new ticket | Opens a new ticket. This is the default. |
| Re-open the last ticket | Re-opens the customer's last ticket. |
| Re-open if the last ticket is X days old | Re-opens the last ticket only if it's recent enough. Otherwise Atlas opens a new ticket. |
FAQs & Troubleshooting
Do I need Twilio to use SMS?
No. You can purchase a number directly in Atlas. Twilio is only needed if you want to bring a number you already have.
Which channel needs an SMS number?
WhatsApp. Atlas asks for a working SMS number before you can enable it.
Where do I see how a number is used?
In the "Phone Numbers" table. It shows each number's "Name", "Phone Number", "Default", "Messages sent" and "Messages received".
