How to connect the HubSpot integration
Last updated October 14, 2026
Overview
The HubSpot integration connects your HubSpot account to Atlas so agents can see who a customer is without leaving the ticket. HubSpot contacts sync into Atlas as customers, HubSpot companies sync into Atlas as accounts, and you choose which HubSpot activity history (calls, emails, meetings, tasks, and notes) agents see in Atlas. In the other direction, Atlas can share customer notes and tickets back to HubSpot, so your support history is visible to the teams working in HubSpot.
This helps both teams. Agents see CRM context such as a customer's annual contract value (ACV) and can prioritize and tailor their replies. Account managers see open support tickets in HubSpot before renewal conversations.
You connect HubSpot through a secure HubSpot sign-in, then complete a four-tab configuration: "Customers", "Accounts", "Activities", and "Tickets & Notes". After you finish the setup, Atlas imports your HubSpot data in the background.
The HubSpot integration is a global setup: an Admin connects and configures it once for the whole workspace.
Key Features
- Secure HubSpot sign-in: Atlas connects through HubSpot's own authorization, so Atlas only gets the access you approve.
- Contacts to customers: HubSpot contacts sync into Atlas as customers. Contacts that do not exist in Atlas yet are created automatically.
- Companies to accounts: HubSpot companies sync into Atlas as accounts. New companies are created as accounts automatically.
- Standard and custom field mapping: Map HubSpot fields to the standard Atlas customer and account fields, and use "Map new field" to map any additional HubSpot properties to your Atlas custom fields.
- Activity history in Atlas: Choose which HubSpot activities agents see in Atlas: calls, emails, meetings, tasks, and notes.
- Tickets and notes back to HubSpot: Share customer notes and tickets from Atlas to HubSpot.
- Background import: After setup, Atlas imports your HubSpot data. The import can take up to 24 hours depending on the number of contacts and accounts.
How to connect the HubSpot integration
Use this guide to authorize HubSpot, map customer and account fields, choose which activities sync, and share tickets and notes back to HubSpot.
Connect your HubSpot account
- Open the main menu and go to "App Configuration > Integrations > Hubspot" .
- Click "Connect to Hubspot".
- In the permission window, click "Authorize".
- Click "Sign in to your HubSpot account" and sign in with the method your team normally uses (for example, "Sign in with Google").
- Select the account tied to your HubSpot portal. It should be the account your team's data lives under.
- Click "Choose account" to confirm which HubSpot account Atlas connects to.
- You are returned to Atlas. Click "Needs Configuration", then click "Configure" to open the mapping screen.
Configure the "Customers" tab (Hubspot to Atlas)
The "Customers" tab maps HubSpot contacts to Atlas customers. HubSpot fields are in the left column ("CRM") and Atlas fields are in the right column ("Atlas").
- Under "Map CRM customers to customers", open the dropdown for each row and select the matching HubSpot field. The Atlas side of standard rows is fixed.
| Atlas field | HubSpot (CRM) field |
| First name | First name |
| Last name | Last name |
| Primary email | |
| Phone | Primary phone |
| User Id | ID |
- (Optional) To map custom fields, under "Map custom fields for CRM customers to customers", click "Map new field".
- On the HubSpot side of the new row, click "Select a field" and choose a HubSpot property. For example, "Hubspot Contact ID", so agents can trace a customer back to their HubSpot record.
- On the Atlas side of the row, click "Select a field" and choose the Atlas custom field that should hold the value. The list shows the custom fields in your Atlas workspace.
- Repeat for each custom field you need. Each mapping works the same way.
- Click "Next".
Configure the "Accounts" tab (Hubspot to Atlas)
The "Accounts" tab maps HubSpot companies to Atlas accounts.
- Under "Map CRM accounts to accounts", select the matching HubSpot field for each row: Atlas field HubSpot (CRM) field Name Name Account ID Id
- (Optional) To map additional company details, under "Map custom fields for CRM accounts to accounts", click "Map new field" and select the HubSpot field and the Atlas field, as on the "Customers" tab.
- Click "Next".
Configure the "Activities" tab (Hubspot to Atlas)
The "Activities" tab does not use field mapping. Instead, you choose which HubSpot history agents see in Atlas.
- Turn on the toggles for the activities you want agents to see:
- "Show call in Atlas"
- "Show email in Atlas"
- "Show meeting in Atlas"
- "Show task in Atlas"
- "Show note in Atlas"
- Click "Next".
Configure the "Tickets & Notes" tab (Atlas to Hubspot)
The "Tickets & Notes" tab sends information the other way, from Atlas to HubSpot.
- Turn on "Show customer notes in Atlas" to share the notes your agents write with HubSpot.
- Turn on "Show tickets in Atlas" to share your ticket history with HubSpot.
- Click "Finish Integration Setup".
How to verify the sync
- In HubSpot, note a contact (name, email, phone) and a company you expect to see in Atlas.
- In Atlas, open the main menu and select "Customers" .
- Click the search icon and search for the contact by name or email. The customer appears with the mapped details filled in.
- Open your accounts list in Atlas and check that the HubSpot company appears under "Name".
How to disconnect the HubSpot integration
- Go to "App Configuration > Integrations > Hubspot" .
- Under "Danger zone", click "Disconnect Hubspot". Disconnecting HubSpot removes the integration with Atlas completely.
FAQs & Troubleshooting
Why is no HubSpot data showing in Atlas yet?
Check the following:
- The integration status is not still "Needs Configuration". Data only flows after you click "Finish Integration Setup".
- The import is still running. The status shows "Syncing...", and the import can take up to 24 hours depending on the number of contacts and accounts.
- You signed in with the HubSpot account your team's data lives under.
Does the integration create new customers and accounts?
Yes. HubSpot contacts that do not exist in Atlas are created as customers, and new HubSpot companies are created as accounts.
Can I change the Atlas field for a standard mapping?
No. For standard rows, the Atlas field is fixed and you only choose the HubSpot field. Use "Map new field" for additional mappings.
Why can't I find my Atlas custom field when mapping?
The Atlas side of a custom mapping lists the custom fields that already exist in your Atlas workspace. Create the custom field in Atlas first, then map it.
Can I turn off an activity type later?
Yes. You can come back and turn any of the activity toggles off later.
What data syncs between HubSpot and Atlas?
Contacts and companies sync into Atlas as customers and accounts, along with the activities you select (calls, emails, meetings, tasks and notes). Customer notes and ticket activity sync from Atlas to HubSpot.
Which direction does each tab sync?
"Customers", "Accounts", and "Activities" sync from HubSpot to Atlas. "Tickets & Notes" syncs from Atlas to HubSpot.
