How to configure organization settings and business hours

Last updated October 13, 2026

Who can use this feature?
Admins only.

Overview

Organization settings hold your company's core profile in Atlas: the organization name, the time zone your team works in, your App ID, and your business hours. The organization name is what customers and teammates see across tickets and emails, and the time zone keeps every timestamp accurate.

Business hours tell Atlas when your team is online. When "Use business hours" is enabled, Atlas uses your configured days and opening and closing times to notify customers when your team is offline, with no manual reply required.

Organization settings are global: an Admin configures them once for the whole workspace, and changes apply to the entire organization as soon as they are saved.

How to configure organization settings and business hours

How to configure organization settings and business hours

  1. Click the main menu in the top left corner, select  "Settings"  and then  "Organization" .
  2. Enter your organization name. This is the name customers and teammates see across every ticket and email.
  3. Click the "Time zone" field and select the time zone your team works in. Each option shows the city and its UTC offset, for example "Chicago" -5:00.
  4. Review your "App ID" (optional). Click the copy icon next to it to copy it to your clipboard. Atlas displays a confirmation message, which you can close.
  5. Turn on the "Use business hours" toggle to have Atlas notify customers when your team is offline.
  6. Configure your business hours:
  • Days: Open the dropdown and select "Weekdays", "Weekends" or "Weekdays + Weekends". Atlas applies your hours across the days you select.
  • Open time: Click the field and select the time your team starts working, for example "08:00 am".
  • Close time: Click the field and select the time your team logs off, for example "08:00 pm".
  1. Click "Save".

Atlas displays the "Updated company profile." message.

Important:
•  Set the organization time zone first. Business hours use it, so a wrong time zone shifts them.
•  To stop using business hours, turn off the "Use business hours" toggle and click "Save".

FAQs & Troubleshooting

Who can change organization settings?

Admins. This is a global setup that applies to the whole workspace.

My changes were not kept. Why?

Make sure you clicked "Save" at the bottom of the page and saw the "Updated company profile." message.

Why do customers see the wrong times?

Check the organization "Time zone". It affects every timestamp your customers see, and your business hours are applied in this time zone.

Can I set different hours for different days?

The demo shows a single "Open time" and "Close time" applied to the selected days ("Weekdays", "Weekends" or "Weekdays + Weekends").

Why are customers not told my team is offline?

Verify that:

  • "Use business hours" is turned on.
  • The selected "Days", "Open time" and "Close time" match your team's schedule.
  • The organization "Time zone" is correct.
  • You clicked "Save" after making changes.

What is the App ID used for?

The App ID is a unique key Atlas uses to connect with external tools and integrations. Copy it with the copy icon next to the field.

Does the organization time zone change my personal time zone?

No. Each teammate sets their own time zone in their profile settings. See  How to manage your profile settings . The organization time zone applies to organization-wide settings such as business hours.
