How to link a ticket to a Linear issue

Last updated October 15, 2026

Who can use this feature?
Admins and Agents (not Viewers).

Overview

Linking a ticket to a Linear issue connects a customer's conversation in Atlas with the work your engineering team tracks in Linear. You can create a new issue from the ticket, start it from a Linear template, or link an issue that already exists.

When a linked issue moves to a state your Admin selected, like Completed or Canceled, Atlas can reopen the ticket, so the customer gets a follow-up.

FAQs & Troubleshooting

Why can't I find my team in the "Team" field?

Only the teams your Admin chose to monitor appear. Ask an Admin to add the team in the Linear integration settings.

Why didn't my ticket reopen when the Linear issue was completed?

Reopening depends on the integration settings: the webhook must be created in Linear, and the ticket's status and the issue's new state must be selected in the reopen settings. For details, read How to connect the Linear integration.

Can I open the linked issue in Linear?

Yes. Click the linked issue on the ticket. It opens in Linear.
