How to configure your notification preferences
Last updated October 8, 2026
Overview
Notification preferences let you decide how and when Atlas alerts you. From "Settings > Notifications" , you choose which channels (Browser, Email, Sound and Slack) notify you for each type of event, such as all ticket events or only tickets assigned to you. You can also pick and preview the notification sound.
Notification preferences are per user: each teammate configures their own alerts, and changes do not affect anyone else. A focused setup, for example alerts only for tickets assigned to you, cuts the noise so you never miss the alerts that matter.
Key Features
- Per-event, per-channel control: Choose a channel for each event type by selecting or clearing its checkbox.
- Four channels: Browser, Email, Sound and Slack.
- All events or assigned tickets only: Receive alerts for every ticket event, or only for tickets assigned to you.
- Slack connection check: Atlas checks whether Slack is connected before turning on the Slack channel.
- Notification sound selection with preview: Choose a sound, such as "Doorbell" or "Water Click", and play it before saving.
How to configure your notification preferences
- Click the main menu in the top left corner.
- Go to "Settings > Notifications" .
- In the all-events row, clear the channels you do not want for every ticket event. In this example, clear "Browser", "Sound" and "Slack".
- If you select "Slack" and Slack is not connected, Atlas displays a dialog. Click "Cancel" to skip Slack for now.
- In the assigned-tickets row, select the channels you want for tickets assigned to you. In this example, select "Browser", "Email" and "Slack".
- Open the sound dropdown and choose a notification sound, for example "Doorbell" or "Water Click".
- Click the play icon next to a sound to preview it before choosing.
- Click "Save".
Atlas displays the "Changes saved" message. Your notifications now follow the channels, events and sound you selected.
FAQs & Troubleshooting
Why didn't my notification preferences change?
Make sure you clicked "Save" and saw the "Changes saved" message.
Why can't I turn on Slack notifications?
Atlas checks whether Slack is connected before turning on the Slack channel. Connect your Slack account first, then select "Slack" again.
Why am I not receiving email notifications?
Verify that "Email" is selected for the event and that you saved your changes. Also check your spam or junk folder.
Can I hear a sound before choosing it?
Yes. Open the sound dropdown and click the play icon next to a sound to preview it.
Do my notification preferences affect other teammates?
No. Notification preferences are per user and only change the alerts you receive.
